Merck Serono are a global science and technology company who design and develop medicines and intelligent devices that provide ongoing care for patients beyond their treatment. Headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany, the company has offices around the globe, including here in the UK at Feltham in West London – a convenient meeting place for employees from around the world.

The Corporate London Walk

After a two day meeting for managers from Italy, Germany, France, the UK and Switzerland we were asked to provide some light relief at the end of a busy and intensive get together.

We met the group outside the National Gallery late one September afternoon and began with an exploration of Trafalgar Square and the surrounding area. Our walk from here took us to view some familiar site like the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey as well as some hidden curiosities , including the site of the Embassy of Texas, the grave of the German Ambassador’s dog and the Duke of Wellington’s mounting block!

At the end of the walk we escorted the group to the door of the restaurant that they had booked in advance.

One of the participants commented that he had travelled all over the world on business but had rarely had a chance to explore the cities in which he found himself. He said that the walk was a great way to get to find out more about London, to unwind after an intensive series of meetings and to chat informally with colleagues.
